Fire Alarm Control Panel
01 · WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?

Product role

The fire alarm panel is the decision and supervision point of a fire detection system. It receives inputs from detectors and manual call points, identifies alarms or faults and activates notification or control outputs.

02 · HOW DOES IT WORK?

Functionality

Devices are arranged in zones or addressable loops. When a device changes state, the panel displays the event and can trigger sounders, strobes, relays, door releases, lift interfaces or other approved cause-and-effect functions.

03 · COMMON TYPES

Product family

  • Conventional panels – grouped by zones
  • Addressable panels – device-level identification
  • Repeater / annunciator panels – remote display points
  • Networked panels – multi-building or larger systems
04 · WHERE IS IT USED?

Typical applications

  • Offices and commercial buildings
  • Hospitals and hotels
  • Schools and institutions
  • Factories and warehouses
  • Multi-storey / multi-zone premises
05 · SELECTION / SPECIFICATION

What should be checked?

  • Conventional vs addressable architecture
  • Number of zones / loops and future expansion
  • Battery backup / power calculations
  • Required integrations and cause-effect logic
  • Compatibility with detectors, modules and notification devices
06 · MAINTENANCE

Keep it ready

  • Review event and fault logs
  • Test alarm and fault indications
  • Check batteries / charger / power supplies
  • Test representative field devices and outputs
  • Keep zone charts, labels and drawings updated
IMPORTANT

Fire products should be selected as part of the risk and system — not by image alone.

Brand, certification, capacity, pressure, agent, hydraulic duty, device protocol, environmental rating and statutory requirements can change by project. We can help organise the requirement and quotation, but the final design/specification must follow the applicable code, approved drawings and competent professional / authority requirements.
